This is a very cute very small little bar. There is a nice little patio out front where you can carry your drink and smoke. They serve bar food at very cheap prices inside. The drinks are made well and very inexpensive. I think i paid 3.00 a drink - and it seemed to stay the same price all the time ( I thought it was happy hour pricing). A great place to start a night/ end a day and make new friends.
Now called Siempre Lounge
It's no longer called The Downstairs Bar...it's now called Siempre Lounge. It was nicely decorated, had a secure buzzed door entry and a nice area to sit outside. Happy hour is everyday 3:00p-7:00pm and the drinks were much cheaper and stronger than the Atlantic Hotel. It's a 1/2 block from the beach but not ON the beach which is the only downside to it. It was very slow as far as patrons but I think as more people find out it's open it will get busier. There were mostly American's there with a few locals. Friendly crowd.
CONDADO is REOPENED!!!
Jim, the owner, has totally renovated the place. Absolutely beautiful. Hard to believe it's the same place. I was closed from about Oct'09 until April 16, 2010. THe reopening party was a awesome! Open bar, an excellent dinner buffet, snacks, etc. Tons of people. Jim knows how to treat his customers! We went back every night thereafter...until our vacation in San Juan was over. Don't miss this place ....a gay jewel in the Condado area. Mike & Tim

Been coming here for at least 20 yrs. Yes an older crowd and the local young boys who like them. ( guess what that means ) Friendly staff, great drinks and Mattie, the owner, knows the boys are safe to be with or they don't get in.
